Nivalis Nights Food Guide: Menus, Dishes & Ingredients

FAQ

How many recipes are in Nivalis Nights?
Not officially stated. Some sites claimed exact recipe counts before release, but no official source ever published one — treat any such number as invented. The game is out as of September 29, 2026; this page carries the verified list once in-game verification is done.
Do ingredients come from farming or fishing?
Both, plus purchasing. The official description confirms three sourcing routes: buy ingredients, grow your own, or catch them fishing from your boat.
Are any dishes seasonal?
The official menu post says the Summer Salad is "strictly banned during any other season" — summer only. Whether that is an enforced in-game rule or flavor writing is still awaiting in-game verification.

Your menu, your rules

Food is the heart of the game’s business loop, and the developers have been explicit about the design: what goes on your menu is entirely up to you. Official posts teasing the food system put it plainly — Subland for dinner, Sweet Waffle for dessert — the menu is a player decision, not a tech tree.

Dishes officially shown so far

As of September 2026, seven dish names have appeared in official materials — three in early food teasers, four more in the August 14, 2026 “What’s on the menu?” post on Steam:

Dish Where it appeared What the official posts say
Subland Early food teaser A sandwich with “fresh ingredients and not too much mayo”
Sweet Waffle Early food teaser “You can put anything on a sweet waffle”
Stinky Tofu Early food teaser The kind of menu choice that builds a reputation
Cola Chicken Aug 14 menu post Crispy — the post’s pick for a film night
Summer Salad Aug 14 menu post Summer only: “strictly banned during any other season”
Meridian Pizza Aug 14 menu post For sharing a slice with friends
VegCoffee Aug 14 menu post The post’s rainy-afternoon sip

The game launched on September 29, 2026. Full dish lists, prices, and unlock conditions now need in-game verification, and they will be documented here only with verification dates, in keeping with how this wiki works. Pre-launch “recipe databases” on other sites were, politely, fiction.

What categories can your menu cover?

Nine, per the official menu post: meat dishes, fish and seafood, salads, sandwiches, pizza, soups, desserts, snacks, and drinks. You can serve from any of them across your venues — but every dish needs the right recipe, the right ingredients, and the right equipment, and some dishes are, in the post’s words, “decidedly more exclusive than others, catering to the most refined of palates.” Which clientele you chase is the strategic choice the menu system is built around.

Category Named so far
Meat dishes Cola Chicken
Fish and seafood — (your catch goes here)
Salads Summer Salad
Sandwiches Subland
Pizza Meridian Pizza
Soups —
Desserts Sweet Waffle
Snacks —
Drinks VegCoffee

The post lists the categories and the dishes separately; the pairings above follow the dish names and are awaiting confirmation against the in-game menu now that the game is out.

The ingredient triangle

Every dish pulls from three officially confirmed sources:

  1. Buy — the straightforward option: pay for what your kitchen needs.
  2. Grow — your own ingredient production.
  3. Catch — fishing from your boat; what you land is what you did not pay for.

Which lane dominates is a genuine strategy decision — it decides the margin on every plate your venues serve.

One kitchen rule is now official, via Update #2: meals are cooked from your oldest ingredients first. Stockpiles generate less rotten food as a result — but the patch notes warn this can raise the odds of the food-freshness aspect of your customer reviews taking a dip. Ingredient rotation is a reputation lever, not just housekeeping.

Update #3 tightened the storage side of the same loop: rotten food can now be cleaned out of venue storage even in larger amounts sitting in both normal and refrigerated storage, manager restock amounts stay in sync with the red Restock Ingredients quest objective (it appears when an ingredient’s stock falls below 10), and the restock notification arrives when the delivery lands — not when the order is placed.

Why food decides your reputation

The climb from noodle stand to top restaurant runs directly through the kitchen: a distinctive menu is what turns first-time customers into regulars, and regulars into the relationships the social side of the game feeds on. The beginner guide places cooking in the daily loop; the feature overview shows how it connects to everything else.
